The first week of school down.....
The first week of school is down and ready to start the second week (short one at that). I do have to say that it was fast and furious. I met half of my students which was about 150. I will meet the other half of my students this week (yes that is roughly 150 more). I have my work cut out for me while trying to memorize all the faces and names, but I will get this.... While working this week I lost another 4 pounds!!!! Let's hope this continues as the days go by. I feel great and should get the all clear this week to begin working out more than just walking. I took some pictures of my new classroom and wanted to include them tonight for your viewing pleasure:)

The Friday before a new world opens up......
Where did the time go? Monday (the first day of school) is next week. Eeekkk!!! My room is just about done and I will include pictures on the next blog for your viewing pleasure:). My first BIG ROCK goal was to be below 200 by the time the kids come back to school and if you notice my Fitness Pal counter shows that I DID IT!!!!!! Hmmmm, now I need to set a new one. Tune in for that:). I feel terrific. I just have to keep reminding myself that I had a pretty big surgery just a month ago. A couple more weeks and I can start doing more than just walking. Hope all my school friends have a spantastic ( my new word) first day, first week, and entire year.

Things are working....
Things are working well around the house. Tuesday will be a week out from surgery and I am gaining strength daily. I have finally figured out how to best get my medicine in my body. That has been the most difficult part because it says to take with food and right now I am on clear liquids and I have to crush the medicine for the first month or so and OMG that stuff taste B I T T E R!!!!!! I was left all alone last night so I got myself up and went out and did a little shopping. It was nice to just go at my pace and stop when I needed to rest. I am looking forward to adding some variety to my intake of lovely nurishment. One more week! Hope everyone has a wonderful productive week. I plan to spend time in my classroom unpacking boxes and getting organized.

My room is packed and....
I finished packing the last box in my classroom at about 6:00 p.m. and took a walk around the school just to take it all in before I left for the evening. Joe and I will return tomorrow to make a haul to the new school and to the storage. Fourteen years in one place that I have formed a bond with many people. I am going to miss many things about Giddens, but, most of all the people.
I began my countdown of preparing for my surgery for this Tuesday the 24th. Drank that nasty stuff to clean me out and I can say I am "squeaky clean" and proud. Clear liquids only for today and tomorrow. Why is it that when you can't eat you want to eat everything in site including things you really don't like? Tomorrow is pre-op time at the hospital and just getting everything else in order. I am excited and a bit nervous at the same time. I know the end result is going to be worth the hard work in the beginning.
